The 2nd All Africa Youth Congress Kickstarts in Nairobi, Kenya

On the 1st of November 2025 over 500 young people from Africa and the Diaspora came together for the All Africa Youth Congress organized by the All Africa Conference of Churches in Nairobi. The congress started on the 31srt of October with the arrivals of delegates and is expected to run till the 5th of November 2025.

The official opening ceremony begun by a grand procession, with delegates showcasing each countries’ flag. In his official opening the AACC Executive Youth Secretary Mr. Brian Muyunga acknowledged the presence each region, highlighting that we are here in Nairobi to inherit the legacy of our forefathers and to imagine that same legacy for Africa: Our Home and Future. The next speaker Rev. Ann Kioi acknowledged the partners of the AAYC for making it a success.

“You are a new Joshua and Esther generation, born in ordinary circumstances but doing extraordinary things.” Said the AACC President Rt. Rev Lydia Nashangwe. Expressing that the youths must be builders and not join the divides that deeply polarize the continent.

“To see this gathering of the 2nd All Africa Youth Congress is almost leading me to tears of joy” confessed Rev. Dr. Fidon Mwombeki:  It is a testimony that a dream, which is articulated with conviction, faith and commitment however small It may seem it does come to pass.

Speaking on behalf of the youths from the Diaspora and the World Council of Churches, Philip Tia Azia spoke of the theme as a prophetic declaration of hope and responsibility.
